Purchasing a cemetery plot<\/h2>\n

When we talk about purchasing a cemetery plot, we\u2019re actually referring to the purchase of a lease in a cemetery through a burial contract. The leaseholder is thereby granted a right of occupancy for a set term (usually 25 to 99\u00a0years).<\/p>\n

The step of choosing the plot is often part of the funeral arrangement (or pre-arrangement) process.<\/a> If the plot is not reserved prior to the person\u2019s death, the family will be responsible for purchasing the plot.<\/p>\n
