What to do in the
event of death

When a person passes away, thus begins a trying process involving many decisions and planning. Our team is here to guide you every step of the way to make your experience as smooth as possible.

Information about the deceased

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS
COLLECTED REGARDING THE DECEASED

  • First and last names
  • Social insurance number
  • Health insurance card
  • Home address
  • Name of parents
  • Date of birth
  • Place of birth
  • Civil status

Civil status of the deceased

WAS HE/SHE MARRIED OR DIVORCED?

If the deceased was married:

  • Date of marriage
  • Place of marriage
  • Information about the spouse (same information as for the deceased)

If the deceased was divorced:

  • Date of divorce

If the deceased was under the care of another person:

  • Same information as for the deceased
  • Two pieces of identification (one with a picture and one with an address)

Viewing

WILL THERE BE A VIEWING AND/OR A FUNERAL
WITH THE BODY OF THE DECEASED?

  • You must choose the clothing (including underwear), accessories and makeup that will be worn by the deceased
  • You must also provide a picture of the deceased to assist in the embalming process

Memorial

WILL THERE BE A NOTICE PUBLISHED
IN THE NEWSPAPERS AND/OR MEMORIAL BOOKMARKS?

This requires a high-resolution photo of the deceased.
